    Default mycarver gets organized... finally

I've known for some time I've outgrown the Secretarial I've been keeping my den in.
So I picked up this piece to store my razor collection.
It's from the Martha Stewart Living Collection which has several variations on it.
It's pretty big. About the size of a 6 burner stove.Weighs 230 Lbs. It measures 42" wide X 28" deep and 36" high.
    8 drawers. Four measure 24" X 36" X 2" deep.
    Two at 17" X 24 " X 3 3/4 " deep
    and two at 17 " X 24" X 5 " deep.
I lined the drawers with deep green felt for the razors to lay on. They look so good sitting there. And I can't believe the amount of razor stuff this thing swallowed up.
But I am planning on making sliding trays to get two levels of razors in the drawers.
I love it. Now I have everything at my fingertips and it's easy to see just where things are.
My straights, DEs, vintage brushes, shaving memorabilia. Just too cool.
Nothing like Spring Cleaning and organizing the Den! You have to see one of these in action to appreciate what it can hold and what you can put in it.

Looks good, some shots of the goodies inside would have been better. I try several times a year to get organized. I take up a whole closet in the hallway, you open the door and can't even step in...lol

Wow, that is a great looking cabinet! Where did you get the green felt?

Congratulations on finding such a useful addition to our hobby. I will have to check this out and see if the Swiss Miss would go for such.

I got the green felt at a fabric store. Joanne Fabrics. Avail. on line as well in a variety of colors. This stuff was 72" wide and they'll cut to any length. I got 3 1/2 yds. for $17.00 or so. $4.99 a yard.

Trimmy72,,, I'll show you mine if you show me yours!

This cab isn't in my home. It's sitting in a room off my Studio which was my old shop and now "Office" and catch all.
One day it'll get into the house possibly as I'm doing a room for my shaving displays.

I got all but the razor boxes, and the old AS . in the cabinet. I didn't want to lay down the tall bottles nor take up space with just empty cardboard boxes.

Lighting is bad in this area of the shop so the pics are a bit grainy.

First two top drawers are devoted to some of my straights. The top one is all restos, factory nice ones. the Second is more of those plus ones that are nice but user grade on from about the middle to the left. At the far left are W&Bs for restoration. All the restored W&Bs in the first drawer , 20 or so have been posted recently in another thread.
Next drawer is most of the Gems, Campfe stars,Rolls, most of the Autostrops ( many never opened and Schicks etc. I think these are all the models of the E series as well. Silver, Silver plate, Brass and Gold.
    Next drawer is all Gillette.

First 2 pics are a hold over from the Gem, Rolls drawer.
    Gillette drawer is next.
That blue canvas in the middle of the Military sets is what I think is a fairly uncommon Navy set. At least I haven't seen any recently.

Some brushes in one of the smaller drawers. This is just the vintage type stuff and not my usual rotation of 15-20 I made.
Also an assortment of different sharpening devices. Some very clever ideas here. That Allegro does two blades at the same time. Hones one, strops the other and does both edges ,,or all 4 with a pass on the machine.

A few of the boxes not kept in the cabinet. But the razors waiting to be restored are kept in it.
