    Default first ebay win

After 16-17 years of ignoring ebay, I finally decided to see what is was about. Bad move. Like a kid in a candy store. Never been so happy to lose. Even happier when I win. My first winning is a Le Grelot. No idea why I got it. I was actually looking for W&B.

it is 13/16 but will become 6/8 after a restore due to a nick.

The last picture is from the auction so the nick wasn't a surprise. I plan on buying a 1k, 3k, and 8k hone. Is the 1k hone enough to get out the nick? I don't really want to buy a lower grit than i have to. I don't mind spending the time on honing. I am waiting to get a loupe first before i start honing.

    Nice purchase

You're heading down a slippery slope you know... I've been in the game 6 months, and if I didn't have access to ebay I'd be a couple of grand better off lol.
It's nice to be important, but more important to be nice

I've taken out nicks that small with a coticule (all I had at the time). A fast cutting 1k stone (I keep a King 1k around for just such things) should work fine.

A 1k will easily get rid of that nick - it's as minute nick, as in it will take only about a minute to get rid of it.

I would be more concerned with the heel but either way you shouldn't have to remove as much material as you think to get it back to shave ready. You poor, poor, poorer bastard. EvilBay will suck every cent from your bank account now that they have their hooks into you. If I had all the money that I have spent there in the last 10 years, I would be able to retire just on the interest alone.

yeah, after giving it some thought, i think it should remove 1/32. so glad to hear it should remove with little effort. the rest of this razor is in great condition. no rust and only superficial scratches on the blade.

Not sure what you mean by 'removing'. As the knock doesn't look very deep from your photos, I would think that it would come out in regular honing.
I wouldn't 'Breadknife" normal honing and Stropping should do it.
