Here's a thread on the GB, "Iron Cross", straight razor.

    http://straightrazorpalace.com/show-...ght-razor.html

The razor I would say is more in the collectors realm, as it is a very, very, rare Sheffield razor. I've heard that they, like most Sheffield blades, are beautiful to shave with, and are an iconic razor from an early manufacturer. There is also some interesting history around the mark and the maker. Do a forum search, there are many threads on the GB Iron Cross razor, one I believe is entitled, "Oh man, not another George Brittain thread!"

They are quite nice to shave with, some of my favorites. My smallest is a 9/8+.

LOL - you're smallest.......how many of these do you have and I'm almost hesitant to ask what's the largest version you have? And remember, without pics, they don't exist!!!!

Can't wait to give mine a try...it's a 9/8....Val's told me the scales and pins are not original and unfortunately cracked in many places. Thankfully the blade is in great shape, no hidden cracks or surprises there. Have gone through the site and found some pics with original scales, and some beautiful variants, so Val and I are going to come up with something.

The two cases took a nice gentle cleaning, and are now sealed in a Zip Lock bag with a desiccant pack.

Looking forward to having this in hand and using this wise old blade.

Don't you wish they could talk, tell you were they have been and what they have been doing the last 200 years?

Good to see it in a good home..

Agreed - where has it been, who has held it, what conversations did it hear...and how the heck did it end up in Texas, before arriving now in Toronto..and where will it end up next?
