Yeah, what I'm going to do next is start to polish the blade via progressive sanding. Going to see how deep that corrosion went. If i can get the blade to polished, then I'll know that there will be no pitting at the edge when it actually gets properly honed to a shaving edge.

I'd probably try to set the bevel on a 1K hone first to get a clean no pit bevel and edge first before sanding and polishing the rest of the blade. Not talking honing it to a shaving edge just setting it 1K to a nice clean pit free bevel/edge. Oth she is your baby. Good luck.

Afraid if I keep taking from the edge instead of from the thickness, that I'll be down to a 3/8 razor with almost no edge past the notch. Haha

That makes a big difference, and some better pics help too
I'd be tempted to take a little more off the heel and toe of the edge, say 64th to 32nd just to suggest a smile and ease the shave.

The King Mfg Co one you have a lot better and easier chance at restoring it. Good luck.

Im with you Bob, looks pretty bad.
I personally , wouldn't waste all that time, I've been there done that.
I just turn them into tools like rust cutters like this one.
Was 5/8, now 3/8, and no hope to reach good steel.
Could have resored 2-3 others in the time spent on just this oneName: uploadfromtaptalk1436711288322.jpg

@Outback it's a good place for me to practice. Rather mess around with this junker for a bit than mess up my beautiful French wedge. Getting some experience under my belt on a new hobby. It's like paying for an education [emoji432]

@Hart, I'm a semi professional photographer, though I haven't been at it in a while. My cell phone and house lighting do not play well at taking pics of a razor. I'm actually amazed at how hard they are to photograph well due to curves, angles, shine on the metal, etc. Hopefully as she gets better, she'll also be more photogenic. Haha

A little diffuse day light goes a long way with razors, just being beside a window helps a lot and if you add a white reflector, even better. You could really get in to it with a light box too.

If I keep doing restorations, maybe I'll put together a nice mini studio for razor pictures. Lol.

    I can agree with that!
It will teach you also not to waste your money and time on similar blades in the future.
That is unless it comes out for you. And you like sore hands and fingers. But thats JMO.[emoji6]
