Hart, you beat me to it but I was going to mention making a light box too. One can be made from a cardboard box or some wood with a nice light in it wherever it does not cause any glare. Wood is probably the best bet to not cause a fire hazard due to a light fixture & bulb.
Oh yeah, I meant to mention, for rust there is an excellent product out there called EVAP-O-RUST that works great & I use it even in an ultrasonic cleaner.Last edited by engine46; 07-13-2015 at 08:57 PM.

Thanked: 315Hope you get all the pitting out of the edge okay. The case is nice. I haven't seen too many of those.

Thanked: 7Getting there. Definitely coming out better than I expected. I may do a glass bead finish on the blade to hide some of the pitting and just make it a custom finish. Depends on how this keeps progressing. Looks like the steel at center that is critical to the shaving edge seems ok. Pitting stopped just shy of ruining this ever being a shaving razor.

Thanked: 3224The steel in the center of the blade is not so much critical. The steel that forms the bevel leading to the edge is critical to whether or not it will shave well. That and the steel just above where the bevel starts because you will eventually hone up into that too. The rest is just cosmetic.

Thanked: 7Got RAD? Maybe. But that Genco is gorgeous. Just a little cleaning up for these new beauties and they should be ready to roll.

Thanked: 7I'll start cleaning her up in a bit. The Genco really makes me smile. That's the first razor I have with decorative scales and bolsters, and the blade is pretty clean. The Marcella I'll probably clean up and resell. If it doesn't clean up, it's not an expensive loss.
