Beautiful set. Nothing beats ivory, especially on older Sheffields. Great score.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

I received the razors today and they look even better in the hand than in the photo. It will be a couple of weeks or more before i can hone them and try them out. They are Ivory and with no defects at all. they must not have been used very much.

Thanked: 480Beautiful set there. I had seen them, and ignored them as I knew I would never win, and didn't want to run anybody up.
As for the "moral" dilemma of ivory? Should a 125 year old violin bow be destroyed because it has an ivory component? Should ancient art works be pulverized? Should every 200 year old bit of ivory be smashed and burned? Does that some how bring back the elephant that was slaughtered to get it?
Be it Ivory or furs, I have always believed that it is far more productive to take the already existing pieces and use the proceeds from selling them to fund conservation and anti poaching efforts. Tossing your leopard skin stole into a bonfire is as others have said, an insult to the spirits of the animals.

I,m quite proud of my ivory scales and brushes and razor boxes ,, not to mention the ivory handled Colt. But hey , some poor piece of rock had to die to make the steel in that razor! Hail to Steak! Tc
