Default The elusive Filarmonica 14 Medallon Taurino

I came across this razor and couldn't help but share this one! now from my understanding this blade is made the same way as the doble temple in terms of it steel and heat treat. But what makes this blade rare is that it was given to the bull fighters of Spain as a good luck before the match and was never a production razor... which is why I am sharing her with you guys today!

i have been getting very lucky with my finds lately and cannot wait to share more of these rare blades. Which include a mastro livi and a robert Williams custom obviously

For the chuckles, let me quote an eighty odd year old Solingen razor maker. "Filarmonica? Yes, we made them. Herkenrath blanks. We put etchings on them with whatever we thought would go down well with the Spaniards."

There are a lot of people that think maybe that is true. And I know more about Filarmonica than the grinders of old. Believe me.

There is nothing at all to dislike them. They are decent razors. Horrible scales, but then again, they are not as bad as Dubl Duck (and other razors which used the same scales, such as the Dovo 25) scales. Enjoy yours. It seems to be in good condition.

Oh that's what I thought u were getting at lol... I must have read that wrong, I've definitely had tons of issues with double dots I've only had about five Philly so far. Only one had issues with the scales

The biggest issue with ducks is when your scales will decide to start gassing and what they will potentially damage along with itself. It's not an if

The scales on the dubl ducks, the old Fillys, seemed (to me) cheap TBH. Maybe that is just me. Warping was also an issue for some of them. I think the blades were first rate for honing/shaving though.

The Fillys with that bullfight theme were certainly highly collectible items among a highly collectible brand. Nice one you have there. Seven -eight years ago they were high dollar on the bay.

Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Yeah the sub cero was interesting shave, she is sitting at the moment because I can't seem to get it to center in her scales... it's giving me mad! It's the scales, the blade is fine... I just haven't had the time to mess with it
