RayG, was the Waterville you sold me considered a wedge?

Hmmm... that was some time ago. If I recall correctly that was a stiff 5/8, probably quarter hollow like a wapi. Not a true wedge, as Lee explained, but yes, the way the term is commonly used.

Yeah, small Sheffields. I miss this 5/8. One of my very first razors, bought here from Jim. I sold it about a year ago in a fit of stupid.

Max had a nice Bowdin's Wedge on his website, but it looks like he is all sold out!
Good to know. I'm restoring this exact razor now. I had to lose the blade etch , but I'm interested in its final shaving ability anyway.

Ray, you sold a Waterville!!!! Arrrrhh!! How did I miss that?

I'm not a collector, but I have more Waterville razors than anything else. Just love 'em. I need to take some decent photos and get them in the Wiki razor reference base.

Back to the subject, I just shaved with my 11/16ths Spike today, what a wonderful shave that razor will provide. You are dead on when stating they are as smooth as a Sheffield. I looked for a long time to find an 11/16ths Spike in excellent condition, but so many were made that I knew one would come along.

Odd that such a fine razor normally sells for so little money, but I guess there are a lot of them and many are in poor condition with the blade worn away to nothing. I guess the old timers thought highly of them also.

Last but not least, here's the 7th. A Helje 22 in 5/8. The ugly duckling of the lot, but an amazing little runt.

I guess that makes the set. Hmmm, maybe for this coming week's SOTD.
Ugly duckling? Man, I think that's a really cool razor. Nice stuff here Ray

Yes, those spikes are gems and go for very little. I picked mine up on ebay for $9 and it looked like it was hardly used.

The sequel is coming up soon... "My BIG Wedges." As soon as #6 and #7 come back from Gary.
