I hear that chocolate is a superb honing medium, particularly when combined with peanut butter and blue escher slurry
Good luck with that Escher my friend!

You know Jim, I still go back and forth between my Nakayama and my Escher's. I know lot's of guys get rid of their finishers once they buy a Nakayama, not me. I like the collection, first, and I think some blades behave differently on certain stones. you can get some really nice velvet squegee shaves off that Escher....
We have assumed control !

Thanked: 20Uhhh....how does a stone burst into flame? I guess it was that slow boat to Japan that did it. I think I would have asked for a refund from either US branch or Japanese brand of shipper. Doesn't matter who gets stuck with the refund as long as you end up with it.

Thanked: 326Congrats on new acquisition Jim! Please post up when you get chance.
The box had BURST INTO FLAME.
Someone had nicely wrapped it in plastic, and put a note on there explaining "Hey, this must have happened in America, cause it was like it when we got it. We swear!"
The stone was fine, though a little chocolatey from the rather unique use of Reeses cups as packing material (Thank you! They're still sweet!) and here it is...my Dark Blue Escher! It's been through hell and back, but it's still ready to hone!
