Just for kicks, here is the LEMAIRE mentioned above. Cannonfodder did the restoration w/ red barra scales - I did the gunstock finish on the scales. I should have let him do his usual beautiful acrylic finish but..... He charged me surprisingly little for this great shaver.

Again, my second best buy of all time. Out of 85 razors, this Lemaire shaves as well as any of them.

I did a handrubbed birchwood oil finish which, along with a good coat of wax, would be fine. After the fact, I felt I should have let the restorer use his acrylic finish which would have improved the looks of the wood dramaticlly. Just my opinion after the fact........

I have two best deals that have produced some really nice razors. The first is shown in this thread where I bought a barber's razor box in new condition along with six great razors, three scissors and five barber's licenses all for $35. My second best deal was shown here where I picked up an 8/8 Robeson and a 9/8 Joseph Elliott for under 50 bucks. Along with many other smaller sweet deals, I have also been screwed a few times by not paying close attention before the sale. But we'll save that for another thread.
