    Default My first coticule

Thanks to a trade with a very generous member on another forum, my first coticule arrived this morning. It's a #10 bout and I've been told it might be La Dressante? Does that sound right?

Looks good, anyway. And I'm looking forward to giving it a try.

Looks Nice. Do not get discouraged if it takes you some time to get the hang of it. Every coticule is a bit different.

Legion, that's a sweet looking rock. The shape is especially nice. It looks very much like my Dressante. I hope you enjoy it as much as I have. 'Hard stone, so you don't worry about nicking it or slurry dulling. The edges from mine are mostly smooth, mellow. It took me quite a while to get good finishes. I still get them more consistently w/ the jnat, but I'd rather do everything from a set bevel to finishing on the coti. I haven't used my norton or nani since getting the coti.

Beautiful stone. I love the edge my coticules give me and they are always super smooth.

Now I'm no expert on layers but no matter what you'll love it once you get the hang o your stone.

Doesn't look like a Dressante, I have several. Great cutters....They normally have a more pinkish color to them, at least the one's I have do. It looks more like a petite blanche, but I could be wrong. It's a Standard grade bout for sure....should be a good cutter.

    Have fun . Looks great.
The white gleam of swords, not the black ink of books, clears doubts and uncertainties and bleak outlooks.

Yeah, I already have another on the way and I haven't even had time to use this one yet!

All the razors I have honed lately have been for other people, so I have just used my tried and true synthetics. When I finally get time to do one of my razors coticule practice will begin.
