    Default Coconut lather bowl

My ceramic lather bowl developed a hairline crack, so while I repair that,
I was searching about for a substitute lather bowl. I came across this:

It a drinking cup, fashioned from a coconut shell, which is commonly used
for drinking kava here in Tonga.

Its slightly rough-textured, so its easy to whip up a batch of lather.

And it has a nice shape...feels good in the hand.

I love it! That looks like the ideal size too. Great idea.

    Whoa!

What about if you whipped up your lather in a nut that had meat still in it?!!!

Then finished with 151 and pineapple juice - internally, of course.

Seriously... they've been trying to ram that coconut down our throats for decades... what if really worked?

I'll have to try lathering with the meat still in the shell. The meat does have a high
oil content, so that might make for an interesting uberlather. I'll let you know
    how it goes.

I wouldn't want to contaminate good liquor with shaving lather, but I'll tell you
what is good: take a green coconut (not a dried up brown one), whack off the
end with a machete. Then add a couple of shots of rum to the coconut milk
inside. The milk of the green coconut is slightly effervescent, and makes for a
dangerously refreshing cocktail. 2 or 3 of those and you'll be crawling home.

Thanks for the tip on the coconut lather.

There is a song... "Put a lime in the Coconut..... "

I like the bowl idea a lot. My larger brushes need
a bit of room and a normal shave mug is just too
    small.

Watch out drinking too much coconut milk. You won't be crawling home if your stuck in the closet with a case of the trots.

I seem to remember when I started here a year ago during my intense google-fu time finding a coconut shaving bowl. I don't remember where, it may have been on etsy, but I can't find it now. I remember thinking how neat it was, but something threw me off from it the price might have been a little high.
