Yeah, it is C135 steel. If you go to Rasurpur site you can read the details. A beauty. I wish they had scaled it in horn or something besides wood though. As pretty as it is, I don't like wooden scales.

I like the look and feel of wood if finished properly. That being said I went for the Celebration razor with the ram horn.

Nothing really wrong with wood if, like you say, it is finished properly to resist water. I've got a number of them in wood and coat them with Renaissance Wax for a little extra water resistance. I do try my damnedest to keep my razor dry when shaving but feel safer with a water proof scale. They are nice on that one.

1+ to the renaissance wax and properly finshed wood to prevent water damage! That being said I have allot of new exotic hardwoods(very hard to work with because if it also and slow going) that I am making scales for. I love the look of finely finished wood.

just a question that detracts nothing from the beauty and quality of this razor, but:

Why oakwing if it's scaled and boxed in figured maple?

Really just a guess but I think I see oak leaves engraved on the spine.

It would appear more sensible to have used Oak, I guess they had some nice Maple in stock. beautiful razor none the less.
