Thanks for this post. I love that razor. I nearly fainted on the "bowl" in the bathroom at work when I opened it. That is exactly what I want it to look like then I get it restored. Can I ask who did the work for you?. What an amazing job. The reflection goes on for days. I see Monday, Sunday, last Wednesday,2 bongos, a tamberine, a Nintendo 64, a box of cuban cigars, a 1965 mustang carberator, 2 biscuits, a hat and some crunch n' munch.

I hope that you posted that chopper in the "butcher shop" club forum.
I need a porcupine quilled bristle brush as well. I want to exfoliate when I start my wet shaving career as well...LOL

I was able to obtain that Razor from Robert Williams. He makes custom razors and I had the pleasure of watching him make razors and wondering around his shop on several occasions. The razor was in his shop looking very nice on several occasions I mentioned it to him. Eventually I was able to convince him that I should look after it for while. He eventually agreed and gave it a quick cleaning and sent it to me. I count myself very lucky.

Quick update. So I received the blade today and i took one pic on my cellphone (and with the help of photoshop of course) I wanted to show you the far cry difference from the Ebay pics that previous owners posted when I won the bid. It looked like someone was churning coals in a wood burning stove with it. The rust in the photos made you think that it was stored in a dark dank gym locker since its creation but....
when I opened the package I was pleasantly suprised! No charcoal ash, no sweaty gym socks, no fire red lava rust like shown in the original pics. Of course there is some surface rust and it is mostly concentrated around the tang but it doesn't look real aggresive. There are no chips are cracks in the blade as suggested by the original Ebay posting. But he did measure it wrong. I know I'm splitting hairs at this point but the blade actually measures closer to 9/8 as opposed to the 8/8's and we all know on ebay that extra 1/8 of an inch on a blade that already measures 1 inch can make the price skyrocket.

So I consider myself lucky on this one
