I'm hoping that the color difference in the carved areas indicates tortoise, but I like it even if it's not.

Looks to me like celluloid. But....we'll see when you get it I guess.

It's hard to tell (on my phone) but it looks interesting either way.

I'm good with it now matter what, but fingers crossed for shell. I'd still be happy with celluloid even. It's pretty!

Hey I have a couple three shells from back in the day when I lived in Curacao and eating them was still all good and all. The wife hates them, and doesn't endorse their place on the wall shall we say .

You think they are worth anything? Can I even sell them?

No idea at all. I just know that it's a beautiful material and I love it.

If it's the entire shells they're probably illegal to sell. I don't know that, but I suspect it.
