not really, any big blade will command the big bucks,if a quality blade.Have sold a couple large palmeras on the bay lately.they bring more than W&Bs (sold price)
You see on the bay the asking, or buy it now price, this means nothing.
What did the blade actually sell for/If it sold, most of the off the wall W&Bs never sell. for anywhere near what the seller is asking.

there was one( on the bay ) we all talked bout on here .. think it was " is this heat damage thread " BIN was 250 , went throught the cylce 1-2 times , then it went to $225 BIN a cycle , and i think it finally went for $200 , im waiting to see what the 8/8 duck blade goes for ..lol.. its still crazy how one goes for $100 in good shape and one in worse shape goes for $200 the next week ... id like to be one of these sellers that keeeps finding them out and about ..lol.. got on store by me that carrys antique straights , the down side is the owners son now shaves with them so the box of 30 she had when i first saw them ( before i knew anything about them ) is now down to about 3 .. i bought one rusted real bad that looked like a 5/8 almost wedge shef blade just to see what was under the rust and kinda a way for my self to see how much rust is to much ..lol..stamp is gone ...lol..but good shave aside i still love looking in that mirrior and seeing that big blade in my paws ..lol

I honed Joe's 9/8 W&B yesterday at the SRP meet. Considering its size it was very easy to hone and took a very nice edge, beautiful razor.

Here's a 9/8 W&B I picked up at a steal of price. I'm estimating 1860's-ish or so. Like the OP's, it's all original,no hone wear, and all I did was give it a polish and honing. It's one of my best and favorite shavers. It's usually the blade I take when I travel. I lucked out with this one.
