I have a bunch of W&B's, The Celebrated, For Barber's use, etc...I don't see what the big deal is all of a sudden. They're good, but so are lot's of other razors. I wouldn't go crazy spending hundreds of dollars on them. As long as the steel is good, which it is, in most vintage razors, it comes down to the honing.
It's W&B now, It'll be something else, like Torrey, Genco Easy Aces, Dubl Duck, Old Boker's, etc....
Actually, I have a couple of Torrey's that take a great edge. I'd do the pepsi challenge anytime.Last edited by zib; 01-09-2013 at 11:50 PM.

Initially I just liked the look of the things and wanted one for purely aesthetic reasons. Then I got mine (thankfully with pretty beat up scales, plenty of patina etc, so it didn't get crazy on ebay), fixed it up, and for me it consistently gives better shaves than any of the other razors I own. In addition to the steel, for me it is also probably a lot to do with the size and weight of it. Most of my other favourites are 7/8+ 1/4-hollow to near wedge, so I like a heavy razor. Now I just need to find another one of similar size from another maker to do my own pepsi challenge...
It was in original condition, faded red, well-worn, but nice.
This was and still is my favorite combination; beautiful, original, and worn.
