Default The over rated hype razor

For the record, this razor is not over-rated and the hype is there for good reason! I know we've all seen a million, but this one is mine. The cool thing about this razor is that is is NOT a restore. This bad boy is all original, still wearing its original pins and collars. Just had to wipe the age off of it, and 15 mins later, viola! This one is 9/8 for all GP w/ no hone wear! lets see yours!

    Here's mine:

I had to re-do the scales but matched them as closely as possible to the original, and was able to re-use the original wedge. Hands-down my best shaver.

It was in original condition, faded red, well-worn, but nice.
This was and still is my favorite combination; beautiful, original, and worn.

Awesome, looks nice in those scales, i actually really like the square ended FBU scales as opposed to the rounder ends on mine, but hey im not complaining.

Mine is in rough shape. Needs re-scaling and tons of hone wear. I also had to take a frown out of it. We'll see in a few weeks how it does for real.

Here's my all original 8/8 FBU, the scales have a few bites but they don't affect the shave

Here's mine, but the picture is courtesy of Glen when he did the restoration. He needed to replace the scales, but tried to keep it as close to original as possible. It's one of my favorite razors.

There's no doubt in my mind that some brands are known to be superior shavers because many of us have experienced them first hand. But where I think the over-rated/hyped thing comes from is the fact that some of us remember when these expensive beauties were common blades that could be had for well under $100; fast forward to today's prices, which will alter the common view of a particular brand. This isn't a commentary on the razors themselves, just on the dynamics of supply and demand economics
