Thread: One More Day to Go

Yesterday, I switched display styles from ‘Classic’ to ‘Blue Steel’ so I could see the stars that everyone was talking about, and this morning, when I logged on, in the upper right corner, was a message that says

‘Good morning, scarface.
One more day to go.’

???!!!??? What’s up with THAT??? ONE MORE DAY TO GO???? What does THAT mean??

I mean, it could be good….like, you know, say you’ve been planning a trip to Bali for the last 6 months, you leave tomorrow, the guy at the office is driving you f*&#!^g CRAZY!!....

……one more day to go.

Or, it could be……you’re sitting in your cell on death row….every appeal has been denied…tomorrow’s the day….the guard outside your cell paces back and forth, and everytime he passes your cell door, he looks in and says….

……..one more day to go.

One More Day To Go…..what does that MEAN??? Good?...Bad?...everytime I look up, my computer tells me

ONE MORE DAY TO GO

…I’m a nervous wreck. People that know me see me and my sallow face, my trembling hands, my suddenly gray hair, and ask with amazement “Lou…what’s wrong?’ and all I can tell them is

‘The internet told me One More Day to Go.’

I can see the shock in their eyes…they mumble their condolences and hustle away as fast as they can….they don’t want to be near me when whatever is going to happen happens….

One more day to go….

…there’s no way I can go to sleep tonight with THAT hanging over my head...One More Day to Go….how many days have already gone?....if I had a calculator and a pencil, I could probably come up with the number (or at least get it pretty close)….but have I squeezed every drop of goodness and enjoyment out of every one?....no, of course not….how many of them were totally wasted?....

One more day to go

….geeze I hate the internet!

You'll just have to wait and see

OK....I went down to my stockbrokers and cashed in all my IRA's and 401(k)'s...he advised against it and said I'll be taking a big tax hit and penalties, and I just told him 'The Hell with taxes and penalties....the internet just told me I have one more day to go! ...and if I've only got one more day to go, then I'm gong to need money and I'm gong to need it NOW!!'.

I sent a mass email to all my clients that said :

"Dear Sucker - I know that you have been a loyal client of mine for the last 15 years, but I just want to take this opportunity to tell you that, man, have I been screwing you over! Padding bills, fake billings, double billings...you name it, I've gotten into your fat wallet BIG TIME, and there's NOTHING you can do, because the internet just told me I've got one more day to go."

Then I went to my real estate agent, and sold them my house (they only gave me 10 cents on the dollar, but, I got the cash NOW)....I went to my wife's shop and drug her out of there kicking and screaming and I explained to her that the internet just told me I have one more day to go, and by God, we're going to spend that day in the finest luxury hotel room in the finest beach front hotel on the west coast. I've got her strapped in the car, the engine is running, and I just came in here to check out and tell all my shaving buddies goodbye, suckers, I never liked you guys, anyway!!!

Hey Lou,
I thought my 3 children were masters of melodrama...
Boy was I wrong.

I'd love to talk, guys, but I'm too busy drivin'....I'm trying to keep my average speed up around 110-120 mph as I scream down the freeway to Seattle - I've got about 3 state bulls on my tail, I'm drivin' with one hand and typin' with the other....hopefully, I can brush the fuzz off my tail in the streets of Seattle, then start headin' south to sunny CA....

Whew... what a day you had yesterday. Aren't you glad it's Friday?

TGIF stands for Thank God It's Friday?!? Oh man, there I was thinking that I had one more day to go yesterday, and then when the day arrives I'm told Tell God I'm F*&!ed.

So like Lou I began to prepare for the worst...
