Thanked: 1587It won't be too hard to see who's in it solely or mostly for the selling - and at that point you can decide for yourself whether you patronise them or not. I think the dodgy ones will be fairly obvious, and more than likely will not be stupid enough to even try to pass off crap on our site. But there are many stupid people in the world, so ...

Thanked: 1081Hmm, at least once a week someone will post "get a shave ready razor from the classifieds" to a newbie whom needs help.
Will we still be able to give this sound advice from now on?

I could argue that your shaveready might be different from my shaveready or jimbo's shaveready.
And I know we have a couple of long time 1000+ post members here who never put a razor to a stone in their life.
The rules of the past were created to prevent anything that 'might' happen, and as a result pretty much nothing happened at all anymore. We still look at ads, and if trolls come around selling junk we'll just kick them out. This way at least we give the honorable members here an option to move shaving items for fun and profit instead of pushing them away.Til shade is gone, til water is gone, Into the shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath.

I dont understand why so much philosophy has to be associated with this move. Many members have no such thoughts hunting razors on EBay. Its not like the forum would suddenly be spammed with deals on razors and soap. The forum will still be a place to discuss our hobby and the classifieds a place to buy and sell stuff. Dont like it? Dont click on the link labeled classifieds.
Don't drink and shave!

I think this new change is a great idea. It will bring more traffic and encourage our members to use the classifieds more often. Instead of them being a ghost town lol.

My opinion, but if that's too much to ask are those guys going to be what has become a pretty good place, look what happens every time one of the crap disturber so shows up,, I,m ready to give it a chance, but now how can we tell a new guy to go to the classifieds like we have been doing? We won't even know them if they don't participate. Just my concern. Tc

Thanked: 20I approve of the changes. I've a few razors I want to sell, but I couldn't list under the old rules unless I wanted to "pad" my post count with inane comments.
Thanks for the change.

Thanked: 1081Time will tell.
What I will say is this, looking at other shaving forums BST they have a lot more going on and i've seen members from SRP sell their shaving stuff on there but not on here

If it increases activity, then it will be a good change. However, is it possible to make a feedback system of sorts to keep track of transactions? On a knife forum I frequent your feedback score is posted on your profile right by post count and I think that helps keep people honest.

I like the change. Im a buyer whose purchases have been elsewhere because of limited choices here. I will check the classifieds more often now.
