I just have fun with them with my 'incorrect' stuff. They don't know what to say when I tell them I don't care if something has been replaced or numbers don't match. I get the feeling they are trying to run me off.
Sharp dudes, though. They know EVERYTHING! Argue amongst themselves for 3 pages on traces of paint on a butt-plate!
I am about to sort all of my rifles by picking their brains and pissing them off, however.

A few more fixes and I will disappear until something malfunctions again!

Here is the chit-chat rule! Seems apparent I cannot help myself?, Violation 'E'.
If they had a like button I would have just hit that!
Boy. We would all be banned!

    5. COMMENTS AND CHIT CHAT WILL NOT BE TOLERATED
This is not a discussion board and is not to be used as one. Possible reasons for unwanted chit chat:
    A. Asking price - If you do not like an individual’s asking price, it is not your place to post that the price is too high. Use the Report the post “triangular shaped icon in the lower left corner of the posting” to send the posting to the Trader Moderators. The problem will be fixed. This is one of the many reasons for the post-reporting feature. Do not comment.
    B. Seller does not know the items value - there are forums to help them out. Use the Report the post “triangular shaped icon in the lower left corner of the posting” to send the posting to the Trader Moderators. The problem will be fixed. This is one of the many reasons for the post-reporting feature. Do not comment.
    C. Seller does not have a price listed – Use the Report the post “triangular shaped icon in the lower left corner of the posting” to send the posting to the Trader Moderators. The problem will be fixed. This is one of the many reasons for the post-reporting feature. Do not comment.
    D. Seller does not know the item is a fake, “humped” rebuilt/reconditioned non original or condition different than posted. Use the Report the post “triangular shaped icon in the lower left corner of the posting” to send the posting to the Trader Moderators. The problem will be fixed. This is one of the many reasons for the post-reporting feature. Do not comment.
    E. Commenting because you cannot help yourself or cannot resist the urge - Send them a PM or e-mail.

UNLESS THE COMMENTS ARE DIRECTLY RELATED TO THE PURCHASE OR TRADE OF A LISTING ITEM, THEY WILL NOT BE TOLERATED. NONE. ZERO. NADA – Clear enough? If after all this clarifying and you must make a comment, you will receive an infraction. THERE WILL BE NO WARNINGS!"

I hear ya, Tom-Nothing worse than a pedantic internet know-it-all who uses every conversation to show their esoteric knowledge of some topic that few people care about (like straight shaving lol!). Thankfully, most experienced guys here just genuinely enjoy sharing knowledge and advancing our hobby without being annoying boors about it.

Years ago, I got myself banned from another popular shaving forum by a butt-hole mod over some minor infraction (or to be more accurate, all my posts were deleted as though I had never existed at all cuz that's how they roll lol). Y'all know which one without me even saying. I just got tired of being smacked on the wrist over "ungentlemanly behavior"-please. I actually told him to ban me, and he did.

The weird thing is, I still lurk-read that forum quite often with no lingering hard feelings, as there's a lot of great information about experimental or unorthodox honing topics especially that get short shrift here (convex hones anyone?). But it appears that SRP is my "home" forum for this hobby (whatever that acronym stands for these days haha!).

I guess if I ever get a gang-tat it will have the SRP logo on it, is what I'm sayin.'

edit: Oh, and in catching up on this thread, I have a question: can you hone on a block of salt?
