Thanked: 328Database Failure
Well guys.. The sites back up.. However, the DB failed and the last good backup was from October 2007..
So we've lost some posts, and anyone that registered in that time will need to re-register (sorry)..
With that being said, we're taking steps to make sure it doesn't happen again.. We'll be doing dual backups from now on..
So we've got a lot of posting to catch up on.. Better get started
P.S. Just tell your wives your busy helping up repopulate the forums...
Thanks
David (Send Whiskey)

Congratulations with getting SRP back in the air again.
I am quite sure most of us don't mind filling the gap of lost posts and threads!
Just consider it an early spring cleaning!Last edited by Kees; 01-21-2008 at 04:27 PM.

Thanks for the update David, and well done to you and anyone else who was involved in getting the site back up and running.

I'm happy to see everything is up and running. A couple of broken images here and there, but that's small stuff at this point.
David, if you're interested, I can steer you to a script that will create back-ups via a cron job. Let me know if I can help you out.

Great work getting the site back up!!
Surprising that there wasn't a good backup between now and Oct...too bad as it seems a lot of good info will be lost.
Looks like some of are PM's were lost as well
Great Job again

Thanked: 44Well congrats on getting it back up. I was wondering if there is a way to reset our post count? I am asking cause I was about to hit 500 and now look at me. I'm listed as a noob again.
I think I will stick with the different name though. I will just have to get people used to it.

Thanked: 44Yeah true. But at least you didn't lose all of them. I was gunning for 1500 before my 1 year aniversary. Now I gotta work 50% harder and you have to read 50% more !!!!
