Thanked: 77Jees, I just got up. and I looked at that for a while and listened to it as well. Must have been one of their earlier albums. The reason I looked at it is that I never knew what the band looked like. I had their more popular album and they weren't pictured on it anywhere.
(and then I went back and thanked Sidney for posting the post that prompted you to post that)Last edited by Quick; 02-25-2009 at 06:39 PM.

Thanked: 1212While I have started this thread and make no secret of my discord with the reputation system, I also dislike that some of you guys are trying to make it into a mockery.
1. Because you can destabilize any initiative that way, good or bad.
2. Because not everyone may object against the reputation system, and who am I to force my opinion upon them by sabotaging the system. Hence till the day it is terminated, I 'll use it as intended.
3. There is the democratic weapon of starting a poll, if you want to battle against the reputation system.
4. There is currently a thread by Dwessel, where you can make suggestions for improving SRP. Only very few people have asked for the removal of the reputation system so far. (I have)
5. I need to lighten up.
Bart.

Thanked: 131Bart as ever you are my glorious beacon of light (or so say the green dits).
And with regards to (2) check my signature. I like yourself use the thanks as intended, but I do not 'force my opinion' upon others. Neither do I refrain from speaking my mind since I believe that SRP is a community where a great many people should be able to politely express themselves. Oh dear I seem to rambling into the 'censorship' category. Sorry Bruno.
Moving swiftly on, perhaps I should take a dose of (5) as well bud.

Ummm, how? I thought that was one of the main objections. It's not clearly defined what it means or how it is intended to be used. I just thanked someone for posting a very informative and useful post on cigar humidors. Sidney objects to his acquiring green dits and that he doesn't have a choice in the matter. I found that informative and useful... so I thank Sidney everytime he mentions it . There is some merit to "if it's being abused it's probably broken" (referring to the user interface). If you thank someone for a contrarian, unpopular, belief/practice/process would that be abuse?
Not to worry. If it's left in place I'm sure it will sort itself out with volume. It is a volume type of thing and will need a good amount of time to see if it's accomplishing whatever it was that whoever implemented it had in mind
