Nope. At least, not until we get to the second part of our plan to take over the world.

    Al raz.
Not quite, there is an exponential component to it.
For example, I think 5 green boxes starts 450 points or something like that.
But 2 green boxes is less than a 100 points or so.
The amount of rep points needed to get the next square increases with each green box. I think the max rep is 1000, and 10 boxes.

Does the thanks handed out in the off topic areas, ie the conversation, count as much as the thanks given in the on topic areas?

Yes. The thanks / rep given in the Conversation is worth as much as that given anywhere else.
I think we looked at getting Conversation / finer things out of it, but I don't think it was feasible.

Well that really is a shame... some folks almost never leave the darkness of the conversation cave... in fact I'm not sure some of them are old enough to shave yet!

Here, I'll do my bit to help the cause.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

From a newbies pov I think it's great to have a something to show who is really an authority when it comes to shaving etc. and who is not. The juniormember/member/senior member thing doesn't really say much other than maybe too much free time. I mean I'm a senior member now but I'm a newb when it comes to actually shaving with a straight, but I'm still not a newbie that don't know anything. Before I even had seen a straight in real life I had spent months studying the thing theoretically (nerd factor? yes).

Anyway the reputation system would be a better marker but still it don't seem too work. I see some guys with one or two dots who are really helpful and knowledged and experienced.
Maybe we should consider another way for newbies to know who to listen more too and who to listen a little less to, because in all honesty thats how it works. If someone who is really an authority on the subject the newb will listen to that voice more than others.

Perhaps a scale of some sort where the member himself can fill in to show for example how long the he has been shaving, honing ect. and how good he is at it. This is of course then up to the honesty of the members. But I think that would be a better way of doing it. For example I saw a post by a fella some time ago who had was a junior member and had no dots, but he had been shaving with a straight for over 30(?) years and he knew what he was talking about. Still since he had no dots or anything to show for it he had to write a long biography about how experienced he in fact was.

So maybe an idea that would help the newbies?
