a willing participant
OK guys,
lots of us have expressed our dislike for the current reps system but let's all remember that the reason we come here is to learn more about our hobbies and addictions and to help others down those same paths to financial ruin
it seems that every year right before the holiday season we really get passionate about some silly idea that has nothing to do with shaving... I'll admit i participate willingly but can we stop this all before the sarcasm and light comedy turns again to bitter infighting?
oh yeah and feel free to give me some negative rep whenever you want... I'm not here to be the prom queenLast edited by syslight; 12-12-2008 at 01:16 AM.
Be just and fear not.

Thanked: 953I agree with this. I started the wet shaving kick about two years ago, and straights at the beginning of this year, and I can't say it took long to figure out on each forum who really gave good advice and who just ranted, and who was good at what, and who had tastes like mine. And people are pretty good about zooming in and correcting "bad" advice, and people are pretty sporting about acknowledging it when there is a grey area with different philosophies.
I always love the just "thanks" system because the guys that get thanked alot tend to be the guys that really help with specific questions, and if someone has a lot of thankses that means something. whereas I'm not sure what to make of a lot of green thingies. I don't think most of us really are going to give negative reputation - that personality type tends to gravitate to another forum.
So between people on this forum being generally pretty savvy and knowing good adivce when they see it, and people being good about making sure questions end up getting the best answers, don't think we need the reputation. Having said that it doesn't bug me. I didn't get very many thankses anyway. I guess I'm more of a shaveforum taker than giver. I'm going to need therapy now. I'm so selfish.
Oh cool that little crying dude is green!

Thanked: 77Does the rep system here only allow you to add to someone's rep one time? If you are only allowed to increment a member's rep one time then it has more value once you get to large numbers. I would assume "rep" to mean that a lot of different people have bumped your rep as opposed to a few people bumping your rep a lot of times.
