These threads pop up every so often, and it is always illuminating to read them and compare and contrast as times and membership demographics change.

It has always been the case that blatant breaches of the rules will land you in ban town. It has also always been the case that mods have a certain level of discretion in these matters, which I know they use with care and thoughtfulness.

Banning is a last resort, not a first choice.

So sit back, relax, and enjoy. I can guarantee that if you are focussing on genuinely contributing to and enjoying the community here, you will have a long and fruitful time at SRP.
