Thanked: 1371It's possible that someone edited their custom user title to say "banned member" or whatever it says under people who are banned.
Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government.

The mods are smarter than you think.

Before I became a mod I would see that someone was banned or hear about it. If it was a well known member there was always talk. What I didn't know until I became a mod is that, with the exception of spammers, no one is banned without the moderators discussing it. We all agree to abide by rules of conduct when we join here and for the vast majority following those rules isn't an issue and they never have a run in with the mods.
For those that don't abide by the rules, unless the behavior is exceptionally egregious, no one is banned without repeated warnings. There will be a reprimand or two with no further action taken unless the member keeps up the offending actions. After a couple of warnings if the behavior persists there may be a time out of a week or a month. If upon returning the member continues to stir the pot they in effect cause themselves to get banned. At least that is the way I have seen it since I became a moderator.Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.
