Stranger, if you passing meet me and desire to speak to me, why should you not speak to me? And why should I not speak to you?

Come on guys. When you are visiting someone who is going above and beyond to be good hosts, and they ask you to use a coaster to keep from making an unsightly spot on their table, you simply comply. The fact that this is an issue for some is odd

Let's assume you really hate the fact that sig lines were removed. Does that mean you now prefer some other shaving site to this one? If yes, you are free to go there. If no, deal with it.
PS - If you really wanted to sign all your posts, you could have registered with your actual name. If you didn't and still want to sign all your posts, you can create a custom title from the user CP. That's about the same as a limited length sig.
I'm posting this as a member, not a mod. Don't assume you know my thoughts about the new sig policy based on this post, because I don't know what my thoughts on the new sig policy are.Last edited by holli4pirating; 07-30-2011 at 08:44 AM.

I'll be totally honest: I think the removal of sig lines was a really good move. There were a few that bothered me immensely, to the point of ignoring those posters.
So thank you, mods, for doing what you consider best, whatever the reason.

I've been a member since 2008 & seen a few changes. Memories of the green dits still make me laugh but not all will know to what I refer.
Change is always uncomfortable but I cannot remember how SRP was any better in 2008 as opposed to now. My point is if something doesn't work after a trial it is rejected or corrected. Hang in there & be patient. The Devs & Admin aren't stupid nor are they trying to make the SRP experience unpleasant , inefficient or impersonal. Quite the opposite. It's about trial & maybe even error to improve when & where possible. We had about 8000 members when I joined. Last I checked we were at 30k+. That didn't happen thru bad calls by adminThe white gleam of swords, not the black ink of books, clears doubts and uncertainties and bleak outlooks.

It is much better without the sig lines.
Totally agree.

I know what goes on behind the scenes with the hardware/Software and the Mods and Admins (in general on a forum). I am no killing the messenger just providing my opinion.
That is a function of the software. Maybe they should reduce the size of the photographs published instead. As we all know, text takes up bits, photographs utilizes bytes, usually in the thousands.
What you forget it that this is my house too. Without the members what would they have?
Dylan, if we all go someplace else, what is left? When the Admins and the Mods stop listening, time to go.
Also, you cannot post as a member since your a mod. That is like saying I'm talking like a civilian. Does not happen.
I'll say this again, you cannot moderate a forum with software. If there is an issue, fix it. I can assure you it is easier to click on a members sig and remove it with the mod tools, than change the server software.
If you want to save space, try doing something like this:
"This image has been resized. Click this bar to view the full image. The original image is sized 1024x768."
That is all.Last edited by Mvcrash; 07-30-2011 at 10:46 AM.

But that's what I'm saying. Everyone isn't gone all of a sudden. Just instead of posting about razors or hones or whatever, there are posts about the new no sig policy. Not to mention people are listening. There has already been mention by Bruno about revising the no sig policy to possibly include one line sigs. That would be a compromise between what members are requesting and the less clutter goal.
And of course I can speak as a member and not a mod. I may fill some administrative roles, but I do not fill them all or even play a part in them all. Trust me, my part on SRP is much more like yours than you may think. I haven't served in the military or for the public, but isn't that exactly what "permission to speak freely" means?

Thanked: 1371Images are resized by the software.
Server space and bandwidth have nothing to do with why signatures were removed.
Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government.
