Thanked: 1371Re: Sidebar ad
Shoot. I was worried that would happen, but when I looked around I didn't see the sidebar tags anywhere else.
I don't have time to look at it now - maybe tomorrow...
If you need those, you'll have to switch back to the normal theme while you're using them.

Thanked: 983Also, and I don't know if this is what is meant to happen or not, but selecting 'no side bar ad's' has to be done every time you log in. Selecting it once doesn't mean it's saved as your preferred default.

That is odd. I have selected the option No_Side_Ads. So the threads are full screen.
After logging out and logging in, the threads are still full screen.

You have a browser cookie that retains your theme preference. I think it's also tied to your account.

Thanked: 270On widescreen PCs and laptops, the sidebar ad isn't as intrusive. Pretty soon everybody will have widescreen because that's all they make these days.

For me and my monitor, No_Side_Ads means lots and lots of interior white space.

Hi, I've read and reread this thread but cannot find any provision to change themes or get rid of the side bar. There is no pull down menu at the bottom of my screen. The side bar ad has recently made this site fairly unpleasant to use, not unusable but not much fun. Pics are now quite small and the banner takes up close to 1/3 of my screen.I am using Fedora with Firefox if that makes any difference. Any suggestion would be appreciated, thanks, Rob
