Yeah, it's been sitting there empty for several days on my end. I've never seen anything in it. I figured it was empty because my hosts file blocks a lot of ad-related stuff.

Thanked: 334I realize the advertisers pay real $$$ for their ads, and I respect that. Their $$$ helps support SRP, my favourite website, and I am grateful for that.
However, reducing it in size by as little as 15% might make it more bearable for me. Just saying.

Or making it horizontal perhaps?

this would make sense. as is the vertical app is only visible on the header as well as maybe the first onoe or two posts. as you scroll down the bar is still there but the ad itself doesnt scroll down with it. so having it across the top (there already is one in the header) or bottom should work. Or thy could make the ad scroll down with you as you move down so the bar is always displaying some ad. that option is really only desirable to the person paying for the ad

Hi, I've read and reread this thread but cannot find any provision to change themes or get rid of the side bar. There is no pull down menu at the bottom of my screen. The side bar ad has recently made this site fairly unpleasant to use, not unusable but not much fun. Pics are now quite small and the banner takes up close to 1/3 of my screen.I am using Fedora with Firefox if that makes any difference. Any suggestion would be appreciated, thanks, Rob
