Has SRP been hacked or what?
I was recently reviewing one of my posts (http://straightrazorpalace.com/works...ml#post1037192) and ran across an underlined "link" that I DID NOT put there. My post had been edited to send anyone who clicked on the link to an EBay site. I did not save the linked site (to my regret). The site was linked to the term "drill press" in the last sentence under the second picture. The link has mysteriously disappeared now.
Was this someone from the outside doing this or something to do with new policies on SRP for promotion and revenue? I am concerned that any member may think that I was the one who put that link into my post. If this was a hack, Admins need to look into it. If this was a change in site policy, I do not appreciate the connotations that it leaves in the minds of other users who may view one of my posts.

Has SRP been hacked or what?
I actually tried to log in this morning and found an email that said someone attempted to access my account and that it had been temporarily closed due to repeated failed logins.
Not gonna lie, it makes me feel kinda special. It's just corn syrup... Warm, blood flavored, corn syrup ...

The link you refer to is something the 'site' is trying out. I had the same reaction to it when I noticed it in one of my posts as you did upon finding it in yours. I complained about it to the admins and was told it was not a hack. So it is, as they say, what it is, and nothing to worry about.

I don't think the site has been hacked, though it sounds like there was an attempt on some accounts.
The link insertion feature is already disabled, so you should see all those links disappear probably over the next few hours or a day. It should've had a 'hover' note although being just a cheap experiment I didn't spend any time to make that notification more comprehensible like say 'link automatically inserted by SRP'.

Easy Big Guy! I think it is typical of cyber-stuff. I have noticed a bit of irreguarity in how the site is running myself! The ones who fix stuff shall fix it! Thanks to all the guys who fix stuff! I surely cannot! Worst part is my smiles aint workin! Funny! I can type a smile and it comes out as I selected a smile! Like This!

Thank you gugi for your explanation and the removal of the links from your experiment. My concern still stands though. How can you experiment with member's posts? It would be like Facebook or Twitter putting links into their member's online chats. Who would ever tolerate that? IF you are intent on continuing with this "experiment" I believe it is incumbent upon you to forewarn the members in a CONSPICUOUS manner that you are going to do so.
I did not think SRP was intended as a profit making venture. Being naive, I thought this site was a bunch of guys and gals who shared information with one another. Everyone who administers or posts spends an inordinate amount of time to participate on the site. From site administration, to restoring, to photographing to posting, everyone here is dedicated to the process of advancing straight razor shaving.
My only request is this: If you are going to experiment, please give users advance notice.

Clearly you made your point(a good one) & got immediate service from the administration.
Look at the bright side, WhiteLion, they linked your post to Ebay; they could just as easily linked your "Drill Press" to a Leather Bar on South Beach.
