No argument there...I was just wanting to convey that **I** may need a gentle nudge from time to time. I hope not, but I might

To clarify, we are talking about regular forums, right? (not "The Conversation"? I always assumed that most anything you might discuss with friends (face to face) in public (i.e. a crowded bar or shopping mall) was free game there)

The conversation may be "free game" so to speak, but that sill does not allow for rudeness, or insults, or cruelty. Unless its aimed at Cheetah of course.

I'd like to see one standard for behavior on the site regardless of gender.

I'm all for a family friendly site. And for the most part I see that here.

I also see most of the senior members being nice, above and beyond, to the new members.

That being said I'd like to have a stop to all the pubic hair shaving threads. People planning to shave pubic hair should experiment in private.

Personally i like to have a laugh and my humour may not be to everyones taste or you may not get my northern British humour. If that is the case and we, on the whole, are 'gentleman' then i would expect for any issue to be taken up in private with me.

I agree that this is a place for everyone regardless of age, race, gender, religion etc. and its standards like those that make SRP great forum.

No disrespect, but I cannot disagree more! This forum is my most valuable resource when it comes to shaving and skin care as related to shaving.

Couple that with the large percentage of folks that do at least some razor work in the pubic area....and I think we are missing a big audience.

To suggest that they experiment in private is to suggest they go elsewhere or worse...experiment in private. I am truly thankful that I did not have to learn everything I know about shaving via private experimentation!

There is great knowledge here...I am in favor of sharing it with dignity. As long as the threads are properly labeled, it should be no problem to avoid the topics you despise.

If I am wrong, so be it, but that is my feel on this topic. NO DISRESPECT, just disagreement.

    Peace.

I agree to disagree on that and no disrespect taken.

I'm actually pretty liberal on the topic and don't mind what people do in private. I just prefer to keep that part of my life separate from this forum.

LOL - I am positive that most people don't get my humor - but I also know that generally speaking, it doesn't resort to being profane or acting like a ten year old lol.

Two things that stand out to me:

One - most people here take time and thought before they post - it's insulting to be dismissed at the end of what some call humor! Moreover, it's even more insulting when you provide some kind of evidence that you know what you are talking about, and someone dismisses you like you are some kind of net junkie be it at the end of humor or not.

No gentleman I know dismisses anyone's insights like that... no matter how out in left field they are. A true gentleman will walk away from fools who do such things - but when the man is well versed and knows allot about the topic - dismissive behavior can lead to combat.

Two - I think most men don't know what it is to be a gentleman anymore. A gentleman in my world has respect for others and is sensitive to others ways of thinking/living. Anymore, I see allot of guys thinking being a gentleman is what goes on in locker rooms.

That's not to say a gentleman is a pushover - rather the contrary. Generally speaking *to me* a gentleman when pushed, points out little facts that should make you realize on your own that you are the fool - but by disregarding the thought and acting like a boy, most miss the subtlety of a gentleman's sword lol... as many here have witnessed lol .

Respect is a big part of being a gentleman!

I have worked on building forums before and in 1 we had a lock down area. In other words you needed special privileges to even get in to look let alone post. Privileges were granted by moderators with access to the control panel. We mostly used it for Mod to Mod chat but it could be used to go outside of normal threads viewed by the public. It might be too much of a pain for the Administrator and Moderators to be worth while. Especially when simply being civil and or using appropriate thread titles would make it unnecessary. I must admit I had to put my hands in my pockets to avoid being the kind of funny some may be offended by but it wasn't that hard :<0)

Even when discussing pubic hair shaving, there is really no need for sexual innuendo and crude jokes.

Perhaps I should post a vid of MYSELF shaving my nether region. I bet it would send as many running for the eye wash stations as it would to the potty humor and again as many to the "so THATS how its done!" school.

Toilet humor is fine now and then, when its use is to make an uncomfortable topic more approachable. But GROWN UPS should be able to distill the essence of knowledge and learning from the wort of comedy.
I wish I had the eloquence of Obie to put these thoughts into words. I'm sure he could make better sense of it than I do.
