Several young people are here on this site. For some people, the straight razor is the first razor they ever use.
And we have decided that this is a family friendly site.
That is why we have a diverse mod team, and things are discussed in group before action is taken.
This insures that whatever is decides is considered from various viewpoints.
Yes, this is interpretation. Several people look at something and then we decide if something is too far.
That's just the way we do things. Other forums have other rules. You just have to figure out which forum you like best.
Any place you go to, you are left to the interpretations of the people in charge.
This is true in real life and online.
There is an ignore function, but it doesn't really work very well. Instead of seeing a post, you see a small rectangle that says something like 'This post is hidden because you elected to ignore XYZ. Click here to view the post' Or something like that. I like facebooks ignore feature much better, which is imo how ignore should work. If you ignore someone, all content from that person is invisible.Til shade is gone, til water is gone, Into the shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath.

I am certainly glad it is.
I enjoy the diversity on this website. It is one of the many reasons I spend time here.
I once again will have to agree with your position. I want to make it clear as day that I have no problem with the moderation on this website. Any comments I make in defense of Free Speech is in no way meant to disparage the great job the moderators do on this website.
I had no idea there was an ignore feature, thanks.
There are also ways to have the "off color"banter between members isolated. Many forums have "bar threads" which are clearly marked and have a bit less moderation for the members to interact. Just an idea.“Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe.”

Take this with a grain of salt.
“Censorship is telling a man he can't have a steak just because a baby can't chew it.” ― Mark Twain
I believe in civility but humor in good taste and intention is well achievable. I really have no problem with the humor of the forum. I just pick and choose what I feel like adding to. Certain topics need no help as they derail themselves (i.e. coochie razor... I have read it.) and I tend to stay away from adding to that kind of humor. Its all about being able to handle what you are given and what you give back.Shaving with facial hair is like a golfcourse. It's a challenge of rough and fairways. You are the skilled greenskeeper of your face?

Thanked: 13245My list of very Inappropriate Comments on SRP
My Razor is "Too Sharp" ...
I have honed Knives for years, I doubt there is much difference in honing a Straight Razor..
I am new here, but I can't believe you guys don't have (insert any basic technique) saved someplace for Newbs to find it
Why would you tape the spine of a razor...
I decided that the best way for me to learn the Straight Razor is for me to make my first one, what kind of steel is the best to use..
I bought this on E-bay is it a good razor ??? it is stamped "Made in Pakistan"
What is the Best (insert any shaving product) and where can I get it cheap...
Pretty much everything else I can deal with
The above is Jokingly
Seriously,
I think what a few people have mentioned already is that the Staff at SRP works together before making a call, we have Mods from many countries, and Mods from many different backgrounds, so things really do have to be well across the Line to become a problem...Last edited by gssixgun; 12-31-2012 at 06:00 PM.

Hi guys! I am new here, and to straight razors, but I can't believe you guys don't have a section in the Wiki that promotes the making of your own razor to start off with! Wow - I really think you are missing out on something there!
Anyway, having made and honed knifes my whole life (from birth - I was born with a knife in my hands), I bought some 154CM and built my own! She's a brute ! You think it's a good steal? Not sure what I should use on my next one? Idea's?
Either way! I think it's awesome because it's just too sharp! It looks at me and cuts! How do I dull it you figure? Ah maybe I'll just get one of those Pakistani razors next! Seriously! How can you go wrong? Cheap - and I hear great things on that other forum! Why would anyone buy from Germany??
Oh speaking of Germany? Can anyone recommend a good soap from there... that's cheap? I mean seriously - $20 a tub? Who do they think they are fooling?
Anyway - that's it for now - thanks for such a great site! I'll post a pick of my razor so that you can tell me what to sell it for after I get my Gold Dollar I ordered!
Thanks again!!
