Thanked: 0I want to thank all of you for your advise and help. decided to give Martin de Candre shaving soap a try and see how that goes. I just bought some on amazon. I saw a YouTube video with someone using that soap and it seems to lather up really quick. There's also some really good reviews on amazon about this product as well, so I will try this and see if I like it.

Thanked: 603I've resisted investigating/acquiring MdC shaving soap, precisely for that reason: its price. But the fact is that a jar's longevity is due to its price! We figure out that we'll save money if we save product, and find ways to translate that knowledge into action: My approach was to learn how little to wet my brush, in order to load it sufficiently with only a few twirls, and build lather on my face, rather than inside the jar. I should take my own advice, and buy some!

I cannot find Martin de Candre on Amazon. I thought it was only sold from the manufacturer which is in France. When I search for MDC on Amazon the only thing that comes up is Pre de Provence which isn't MDC as for as I know. If MDC can be purchased in the US, I would like to know.

Both have great qualities. That's why I always do a mix every morning😊

Thanked: 0I apologize but what happened was I typed in Martin de Candre in the web search bar and it took me to amazon and I didn't get a good enough look at it and I thought it was Martin de Candre and ended up purchasing it. So, its not Martin de Candre What I wound up buying was Pre de Provence Shave Soap. It did get good reviews so I'll just go with this for now and I'll find a website that sells Martin de Candre and try that as well. I am sorry for the inaccurate info.

Thanked: 3Do creams have a stronger scent? It seems a cream would be able to have more fragrance.

Pre de Provence is good too, but it's not MDC. As far as MDC goes, It's either the soap maker in France, here:
Traditional soap factory Martin de Candre: Good quality shaving soap with generous foaming
or
This site: (mdcsoap.us) Home It's the real deal, he imports it, and ships it from New York.
That's the only two places on the web you can get it. As previously mentioned, you won't be disappointed with MDC.Last edited by zib; 07-27-2013 at 10:02 PM.

So many soaps and only one face to shave.
I actually shave everyday now just to use up some products.
