Just started my day with a Proraso green shave. I love it, though I find other soaps/creams lather better. I just need a nice menthol ZING sometimes!

Thanked: 3226Just used Vitos Red this morning. As usual it produced a very good lather but the scent just turns me off. If they could do something about the scent I'd be very happy with it. Oh well, I'll use a clothes pin on the nose and use it up.

In my opinion, we have great shaving soaps and creams made here in Italy. I can also tell for sure we have very bad soaps and creams made here as well. Not just a matter of preference, but also a matter of facts. Not all Italian soaps and creams are that good, but the on the average they are absolutely good.

I could also recommend Tcheon Fung Sing. I'm trying to buy more of the Bergamotto Neroli but the webshop has been out of stock for a while. It's cheap and beats MWF for me, similar in performance but a much better scent.

I agree with Razorguy Italian soaps are good, so 'as the English for me. However, some I like less. I don't like The Proraso, for example. But it like my son and I use it occasionally.
The specialty 'Italian is still the almond!

Thanked: 3226I could not agree more that there are good and bad produced in Italy and in other countries as well. No country has an iron clad monopoly in the ability to make solely good soaps.
Unfortunately preference is part of what makes a soap good or bad for an individual. Case in point being the Vitos Red that I used this morning. It produces a very good lather that I have no qualms using with a straight unfortunately I can just barely put up with the scent. Others do like the scent so is it a good or bad soap? It can be a yes and no sorta thing.

I like proraso and I think if it wasn't so hyped up by some that I would think it is a good soap. I think the hype that some create raised my expectations. It is a good soap and very good for the price. I just don't think it is the best I have tried.
My favorite products are still the SRD soaps and Castle and Forbes creams. I know I am a little off topic so please forgive.
