Tabac is a classic example of that, very good soap to shave with but the scent is off putting to quite a few people. Me, I love Tabac all around oddly enough. You really can't leave scent out of the equation when looking at a soap as good or bad on an individual by individual basis. That is the part that makes selecting a new soap very difficult.

I totally agree with you. The scent is very important to give value to a soap. In Italy, too many friends do not like the scent of Tabac. For me Tabac is a great soap and I love it even her perfume. For these reasons, it is one of my favorites.

To get a scent recalling almond, the easiest thing to do is adding benzaldehyde to your cream or soap. It can be easily synthesized and has an almond-like scent. It is widely used in cosmetics and most of almond scent shaving creams or soaps have it. In real almonds what gives them their typical scent is amygdalin which can be broken up into benzaldehyde. Synthesizing benzaldehyde is very easy and cheap and it can be obtained from many processes or techniques.

The true scent of almond soap Italian you can find it in Panama De Boellis for me.
I'll have to put Panama De Boellis on the list, thanks.

When I'd used the Tcheon Fung Sing Bergamotto Neroli for the first time, my girlfriend commented on how nicely I smelled. I thought she meant my EdC, but she said no, it's the shaving soap.

They make very good shaving soaps for sure! Cheap and very performing. TFS soaps are among my favorite ones since a very long, long time.
