I use bigelow from time to time by itself. But lately Ive been using it in uber. Ive found it mixes great with D.R. harris Windsor. I bowl lather an works well. But if palm lathering while traveling it doesn't give the same results. Water definitely is crucial.

    Gentlemen,
I lathered with Bigelow a few times many years ago and found it easy to work with. You're right, the correct amount of water should do it. The cream is also a good mixer for some.

Here's how I lather Bigelow: put an almond-sized amount in a bowl, then work in with the brush until it is spread thin and into the brush and begins to feel "tacky" (dryish). Then I slop a generous palmful of water in there: it feels like way too much, and at first everything seems too wet. As I work the brush now, it goes from very wet w/ large bubbles, to runny w/ smaller bubbles, to thickish, to wonderfully whipped-cream like.
    Keep your pivot dry!
