I'd like to share my thoughts here as well. Below are my favorites, all judged on overall performance and consistency.

This thread is going to prove quite useful. This week I stood in the shave aisle of famed Pasteur's Pharmacy in NYC. Pasteur's is one of the only brick and mortar vendors with a selection of many of the top soaps, creams, balms, brushes and razors, all on the shelf. (No MdC though) I left with nothing this time. I wanted to try something new, but was a bit overwhelmed with the selection. Now I have some ideas. Truth told, the last thing I need is more software as I have far too much already. Surely, that's my AD.

    - Mama Bear
    - Leah
    - MWF
    - Trumpers
    - Kell's
    - Portus Cale

I've listed only six because the other soaps I reach for regularly and favor are no longer available, though I have stock-piled enough of each for a lifetime of shaves..

    - Original formula P.160
    - LaToya Manintiales
    - Tom's of Maine Menthol

Never was lucky enough to have La Toja Manantiales. I have the AS and love it, but the soap ..... never had it. I've tried to find it but no luck. The looks of the jar is one of my all time favorites.

I never had the opportunity to try the original. I recently tried the reformulated version. My first couple of shaves left me unimpressed. I began to use more water and product. The results were much better. I found it to provide a slick comfortable feeling to my skin after the shave.

I can't remember how or why I got the first jar. I think I just liked the look of it. Once I lathered it, I picked up all that I could find. I have three or four jars. Love this soap for sure.

I guess I might as well add in my $.02. My list includes some "old formulations" and discontinued soaps, but is in no particular order:

    Xpec
    Domenico Caraceni
    Tallow First Penhaligon's English Fern
Al's Shaing Bomb (especially my custom rose/sandalwood formulation)
    D.R. Harris Windsor
    Acqua di Parma
    Yardley
