Another fan of MWF - you can't have Fat Tuesday without MWF...
My results went from good to great when I grated the puck and packed it in layers in the MWF ceramic.
The goal was to fill the container side to side - the bonus was that it became easier to load for the face lather.
And I'm from the cold/cool water shave tribe -

Thanked: 3795After a few uses of the soap, the puck will do things, both by virtue of it absorbing water. First, it will swell slightly. Second, and more importantly, it will soften.
After these two things happen, it will be quite easy to push the soap with your thumbs to make it fill in the small gap between the sides of the puck and the sides of the ceramic bowl.

I have very hard water which is also iron-laden, I've never had a problem making great lather from MWF. I don't know why I don't use it more as it constantly leaves my face BBS.
