MWF questions
I just received my first puck of Mitchel's Wool Fat and i'm wondering if it's posible to bowl lather it? I'm not a big fan of face lathering but if that method is better then bowl lathering i guest i'll suit for it. Some say that the method to lather that soap is similar then Williams mug(not comparing the quality but the techennic) if it's similar i don't have any difficulty to bowl lather williams? If any one have any sugestion feel free to post, Thank's Gino.

Thanked: 3795If you normally bowl lather with other soaps, then do the same for MWF. Same goes if you normally face lather. Ignore the stories and just use the d$@m soap and enjoy the lather and shave. If you run into trouble, then add a little more water!
It ain't rocket science.

Hello Papabear11,
I really can’t understand all these weird-to-me posts about presumed difficulties of lathering with one soap or another that bring a member to actually wonder if it is possible to bowl lather with such a standard shaving soap as MWF soap
Sir, I only bowl lather with MWF soap. I never face lather, except when using valobra stick.
I do not believe that there can be any kind of difficulty with MWF soap, sorry but I have never noticed any difficulties so I cannot believe there could be any, despite so many posts and threads that contradict me.
Please try to bowl lather with MWF, with any brush you want, any kind of water you have. It will lather close to perfection.
Please don’t be angry with me if you disagree, this is just my opinion.

MWF is a very good soap. For me, it makes a great lather.
Also,
My wife and Daughter-in-law have adopted MWF Bath Soap as their go-to shower soap. They do use ARKO sticks for their shaving. If you don't care where you are, you are not lost.

Great soap and a pleasant scent that is not overpowering but just enough. Can't say enough of this soap, you will like it for sure, or at least alot of folks do.

Thanked: 3228You can bowl lather Williams so you should be able to bowl lather MWF. I think both like a little more water than some other soaps.

Paperbear,
You can face or bowl lather with Mitchell's Wool Fat as you would do with any other soap. Give your brush a few gentle shakes and then start loading it with the soap — I load my brush heavily. Now make lather in your bowl, adjusting the water as you progress. That's all there is to it.
I, too, do not understand the countless comments on these forums about Mitchell's Wool Fat being difficult to lather. Who started this, anyway? Numerous videos have been made on how to make lather with this soap. For heaven's sake, talk about people who have nothing else to do.
This reminds me of a story about the great opera composer Verdi. A young composer asked the master for advice on composing operas. The youngster went on to a lengthy description of how he would do this here and that there. On and on he went. Finally he asked Verdi how he would compose his opera. Verdi said he would just sit down and write some music.
So yes, Paperbear, forget all the mythical stories about Mitchell's Wool Fat. It's just shaving soap. Load your brush well and start making lather.Last edited by Obie; 06-07-2015 at 01:25 PM.
