Pirate's Cove Coconut
I have used Pirate's Cove Coconut, with a Badger brush, for a couple of years. I find it to be okay...I like the scent. It's nice, but not overpowering.

Tried the coconut last night. Here's how I stack it up.
Lather - once I figured out the soap to water ratio, this stuff lathered up really well. It was rich, luxurious, and had good staying power. It did not dry out quickly, in fact it took quite a while to dry out at all. It could be piled high easily, with no real loss.
Smell - Great smell, but a little different than I was expecting. Of course it smelled like coconut, but almost like a sweetened version of it, I had expected a slightly more subdued or natural scent, but overall, it was still very pleasing to the nose.
Lubricity - Really good lubricity. The initial glide was very slick, even with a razor of mine that is notoriously difficult to shave with, which surprised me quite a bit. However, it does not have the residual slickness that I usually look for in my soaps. The ability to immediately pass the razor over an area at least one more after just scraping off the lather. I think of it as secondary lubricity. This soap does not have much of that at all, which is a little bit odd.
Now remember I am in Kuwait and shaving with hard water, so your experience and particular tastes and methods may differ from mine. Otherwise, get some of these soaps, they are an absolute steal at these prices and their quality is up there with the good stuff.
Overall, I think the coconut gets a 7.5 out of 10 from me. If it had more secondary lubricity, it would have gotten at least an 8.Last edited by jimmyman; 06-05-2007 at 06:47 AM.

After using it for a few nights in a row, I think I might actually bump this up to an 8. Every night I have used it, it has gotten better.
