I just used my MDC Rose a couple of days ago.
    No problems whatsoever.

I have tried to find many things unscented ant that is hard. I don't have any noticeable issues with scent but don't think it is a big deal.

Any recommendations for a first tier unscented soap/creme?

Mystic Water. Mike's, Cold River, Shannon's, Stirling, Grooming Dept, are, in my opinion, first tier soaps that offer unscented soap.

MdC makes an unscented soap. Never tried it.

Ever since I received the MdC Rose a few months ago, it's been my main soap. I'm almost always test shaving these days, and in order to keep as many variables consistent as possible, I use the same soap, same brush, same strop. Anytime I've gotten irritation, I'm certain it was from a less than perfect edge rather than the soap.

Your on the right path. I do enjoy Klar. Another ive recently found that i ennoy is the Captain's Sandalwood. Quality soap from the lather to the after shave feel of the skin. And i think its Veg!

    Gentlemen,

Well, I am retiring my Martin de Candre rose. I like the scent, and the lather, of course, but the soap gives me a burn and leaves my face irritated.

I have used Martin de Candre for some years, starting with the brain bowl in the original scent. Love everything about the soap in the original scent. Today I lathered with the Fougere scent. No problem at all. Love the scent.

So goodbye to the rose scent. I’ll try to uber lather with it by mixing in the OneBlade Lavender shave cream. The scent might be a wee bit weird, but it’s one way of getting some use out of the rose.
