The scent puts the b in subtle, but the lather is superb. Going to pull it out for today's shave but apply TC's palm testing to it, cause +1 to what phrank said, it's a great idea to work out the ratios Horatio.

I haven't been watching the mailbox this hard since I had my first custom done a couple years ago! Subtle is what I like, with great lather, that's one of the reasons I like MDC lavender better than Castle Forbes, because of the subtle scent, CS lavender is great stuff but the scent is pronounced. I have the same problem with any of the Italian almond soaps, they are way to strong in my opinion, the only one not strong and being subtle is the Panama Boellis 1924 . So this is great news for me and I love saffron. Great job on your meet guys. It will be on my bucket list for sure now. Tc

I have not used Mama Bear for a while. If I recall, though, my favorites were Ye Old Barbershoppe and Roses. They are clean fragrances, subtle, and quite pleasant.

Well then you'll love the Krokos then.

I had the second use of it today, in a new scuttle that Mcbladescar's wife made...

Wish I had seen a scuttle like this years ago...bowl isn't to deep like my last one, great ridges and bumps to agitate the lather, and a great big wide bowl, never had lather bloom like this before.

The Krokos is extremely subtle, and I totally get what you're saying around how subtle the MdC Lavender is compared to the CF...so based on that, the Krokos will be right up your alley - really superb stuff. Again, my face is very hydrated, feels fantastic after this soap, never had a soap leave my face feeling this refreshed, again, didn't really need any aftershave oil.

Here's a pic from the meet, I bought the first scuttle in the row (first one on the left), a beautiful blue themed scuttle, very heavy, holds the heat, and had plenty of real estate to really generate lather. Other thing I hadn't realized I was missing before in my old scuttle, the wide real estate allows you to get a good eye on how the lather develops, and knew exactly what the texture of the lather was as it was building, so I knew when to add water, it's a thirsty soap, and I could tune this soap up very quickly.

Huge kudo's to the craftsmanship of Mcbladescar's better half....

Well after trying the Martin de Candre soap yesterday at the razor meet, I went ahead and purchased some.
    Looking forward to its arrival.

I just received it, Andrew, and will shave with it in the morning for the first time. I was impressed with the packaging and the jar, and I love the yellow color. I'm a little disappointed with the subtle scent, as I tend to prefer medium to strong scents. However, I do enjoy a few soaps with a subtle scent (e.g. Acqua Di Parma), and I'll be pleased if the lather is as good as everyone is describing. I want to get at least a couple of shaves in before I pass judgement.
