Gentlemen,

Another soap new soap for me is Tcheon Fung Sing, an artisan product from Italy that is reasonably priced. The soap lathers well, has good moisture, and cushion and glide are good. It is not a spectacular soap, Second Tier designated, for sure, and it is worth the try.

In overall quality and characteristics, Tcheon Fung Sing reminds of the French artisan soap La Cigale. Tcheon Fung Sing's Bergamotto Neroli version, the only one I have tried, has a clean and pleasant fragrance. I think the soap is worth having in the shave den. Good stuff.

Obie, I had another Tcheön Fung Sing soap that I also thought was quite good. It had a very long name that I cannot recall, but I just referred to it as "Rosse," That was part of the name and it was in a red bowl. I agree, not a Tier 1, but very nice ... Somewhat like Cella, which I had to give away because I refused to use it, but I felt, better in performance and scent.

BTW, I have, and enjoy the Bergamotto y Neroli also..

I had eyed the Wickham 1912 soaps for a few months and finally decided to try two fragrances: Russian Leather and Citrus Musk.

These English soaps lather well; the moisture could be better. Cushion and glide are good, although the lather seems to dry too fast on the face. I really like the aftershave properties. The fragrances, which I find a wee bit too robust, are a personal choice, of course. I could not stand the Citrus Musk for its medicinal scent. The Russian Leather, however, has an intoxicating scent. I love it.

The soaps are worth the try. I am putting them in the Second Tier

Although I find the Bergamotto Neroli scent very good I haven't kept it since, as you say, it's second tier (I would use the term mediocre). I was also not pleased with the tub it came in (but it's been about two years so maybe the packaging changed).

Interesting, thanks for your thoughts on the soap. Personally it's a first tier soap for me, never had any problems with it drying out and the new 1912 formula has the ability to retain plenty of water without the lather foaming up or dissipating - A characteristic that i normally look for with soaps. Also i love the Club Cola scent, it's just like the small coke bottle sweets you get given when you're a kid.

I love the Russian Leather fragrance; however, the citrus musk fragrance is horrible. I used that soap once and dumped it into the drawer, hoping it would somehow disappear. A friend was over yesterday and I had him smell it. "This stuff stinks," he said, and I agreed with him. Horrible fragrance. I have many visitors, and one of them may like it enough to take it off my hand. OY!

I have seen this soap but not tried it. Their cluttered and unattractive labels are far from inviting.
