Rare and Memorable
Gentlemen,
Several members posted photos of unusual and rare soaps in the First Tier Soaps and Creams thread. This gave me the idea of starting another thread on rare and memorable shave soaps. I don't have any to show as examples.
If you remember such soaps and if you have photos of them, please join the conversation here. Also, if possible, talk about the soap's characteristics: scent, performance, and the time period it was used, and so on.
Thank you. This should be fun.Last edited by Obie; 01-23-2016 at 05:10 PM.

Here we go with Avon's "Who Your Daddy" shave soap. I don't know how it performs , cause I only have this one & I don't want to lather it up.
,but since its Avon, its gotta be great!

Good show, Hirlau. That's exactly what I had in mind. Thanks for spiking the thread.
Gentlemen, dig into your memory, and possibly closet, and see what you can find.
Thanks.

Vintage Yardly
Here's a vintage Yardly (un-used) I have in the collection,,, sorry I've never used it, so I can't comment on the performance.

I'm going to post this soap here, as I don't think they make it anymore,, too bad , as it is my "Favorite" soap. I have this one tub left & use it sparingly.

I think something has to be said about how the time was taken to make a mold of a face and produce the Who's Your Daddy shave soap. Very cool indeed! It arouses my curiosity as to what the scent is, how it performs, and when any how much was produced.
The Yardley looks awesome too.
Thanks for sharing Hirlau!

Pete,
Thank you for the suggestion. I'll edit my original post to reflect some of this.

Thanked: 1184Now we know who is hoarding all the old rare soaps :<0) There is another side to that face of Avon and a little test wouldn't decrease the value THAT much. Just John, the suspense would kill me.
Good judgment comes from experience, and experience....well that comes from poor judgment.
