Thanks for the kind offer, TC! I've sent you a PM.
And thanks for pointing out some details regarding MdC. I will give the Fougère scent a try some day.Last edited by Speedster; 04-06-2017 at 06:13 AM.

The fern mdc is what I have.
I just bought my brother one for his birthday.
It's a lovely smell.
As far as creams , soaps go , you cannot beat Acqua di parma.
The value for money is a joke though.

Honestly, if XPEC is almond scented I would likely be of the same opinion as tc. I don't hate almond but it doesn't exactly do anything positive for me either. With that in mind I'm far more likely to take my chances elsewhere. Of course I can be a bit picky about scents and SWMBO tends to narrow my choices a bit further.
Currently I'm contemplating H.R. Harris in the Windsor scent. The post over in Obie's thread comparing it to a 19th century English gentlemen's club merely reinforced the desire to give it a try.

Thanked: 3ones a great start
If I could walk into a place local and buy 2 or 3 I would without hesitation
I'm just loth to buy em on line and then not like them
Personal thing I hate buying online
Saves me from myself
Because if I had a great place to buy stuff local to my NYC manhatten isn't " local" and it's a pain for me to go into the city because I don't do
Public transportation
I'd have like 25 razors and 10 strops ect ect
I like to collect things

try Stirling soaps, Rod has a wide array of scents, some are strong enough to last awhile, plus on the bright side they don't perform bad,, just not in the league with some of the top makers. as to artisans I tend to stay away from them now, too many questions on what they are using for ingredients plus no regulation on their products. don't get me wrong I would,nt be against them if I hadn't tried them. I have tried most soaps out there. and as far as Artisan soaps there are not many I would recommend, but here is a couple that are worth trying,,, Barrister and Mann. Green River Soap company.. but still leaves a lot to be desired, the top tiered soaps from overseas tend to have the purist of ingredients well concocted, and the product really isn't expensive when you consider that it goes farther with less product on the brush. As an example, I can get a little over a year out of a jar of MDC, that's 365 shaves plus. most of the "cheaper soaps" that I gave an honest try, couldn't have lasted that long, so per shave I,m thinking its really close unless your comparing to Arko, which lets face it you cant beat the lather, but you must be able to take the scent.
Also if you like scent try any of the Italian offerings, this is why I don't care for them much because of the strong almond scent , except for Panama Boellis its real subtle ,, good luck Tc“ I,m getting the impression that everyone thinks I have TIME to fix their bikes”

I believe "K shave worx" is a NY, artisian made soap. Check the web to see how close he is to you. A member hear from the NY area has sent me some , and its a really nice soap. They probably have a non scented soap, and
most places you can get samples from instead of buying whole tubs or jars.
Their out of Ballston spa NYMike
