Thanked: 31How do you keep your lather warm?
Personally, I heat up a simple ceramic bowl with hot water, and mix my lather from hot water. Still, the later sometimes get cold. Maybe more complex shaving mugs are better at keeping it warm?

You could try one of those little coffee cup warmers...kind of like a miniature hot plate that doesn't get blazing hot.
Or you could go balls out and get a silver scuttle.Keep it safe and Cheers,

I can't stop looking at that thing. Think I've got a "scuttle envy"
Keep it safe and Cheers,

Thanked: 3226I'd get a modern shaving scuttle like this one.
Georgetown Pottery: G20 Shaving Scuttle Mug
Actually any scuttle similar in design.
I have a modern shaving scuttle but do not use it as I prefer cold water shaves.

Thanked: 292I use a Glade wax melt warmer.
https://www.glade.com/en-gb/products...x-melts-warmer
The warmer has a flat top and heats the lather up to about 130 degrees F. I usually let the brush cool for a few seconds before putting it on my face to be sure it is not too hot.
I do not use the shallow bowl that comes with the warmer. You can use any flat bottom container of appropriate size such as a Corningware cereal bowl, ramekin, or something like the mortar bowl from a mortar and pestle set. Be careful not to use a mug or dish that has a rim on the bottom as that will interfere with the transfer of heat from the warmer to the shaving bowl. You need a flat bottom.
Also, if you consider using such a device, remember that you are using an electrical appliance around water. Keep the warmer as far from the sink as possible. Be sure plug the warmer into a a properly functioning GFCI receptacle. Use wire ties to wrap up excess cord so the warmer cannot fall into the sink while plugged in. Never turn the appliance on or off without drying your hands thoroughly before touching the switch. Warm lather is wonderful, but it is not worth risking a potentially fatal electrical shock.
