I've been going through past soaps and creams, saw an SOTD and it reminded me about Proraso, a great one that started it all for me.

One of my favourites, that developed over time, was the Proraso White....and I was literally heartbroken!!

I had no Proraso White Shaving Soap.....

This morning, volunteered to run the boy to the subway, much thanks were given, even though the motive was to stop at Shoppers and pick up some Proraso White.....

Humanity saved....how could I not have such a classic IN THE HOUSE!!!

Apologies to wet shavers everywhere...shan't happen again!

You almost f#&*$#d up my friend. I,m the same with their red tube, it started me from old spice mug soap for eons and then found Proraso red, great stuff, admittedly I have much more of a refined taste since, but it stays in the travel bag. Tc

You almost lost your “cool membership”. That was close. Tc

Had a tub of the Green and the Red, which I love, was my favourite for a long, long time, that Sandalwood is one of the best, but then slowly the white built up the momentum.

This week will be Proraso week...and all shall then be right again with the world.

Ha...even found a little jar of the old green and white pre/post shave cream....going to be a wild night tonight....LOL....ferk I'm getting old.

When I [re]started wet shaving, Proraso Red was the first thing I bought and used. Bowl lathered. I use it once a year or so now, unless I need lather for honing. That's its principal use for me now.

I was given my first Proraso last February by Scott when we were at Charlie's in Texas.
It's a plastic bladder like container in a pretty sizeable box. Sandalwood and cedarwood or the likes.
It really surprised me...the soap Rocks!

    (Thanks again Scott)

    Picture stolen!

I did not like the white as I had the green for ever and the red for a while before trying it. PIF with it.

It did not do much for me. Funny how a scent helps?

That's a different Proraso, Pete. The newer creme One-Blade stuff.
I think Phrank referred to the old white tub of Proraso.

    Much different animals!

Although TC will put me back in the corner again, i have to say ive never tried Proraso. Dont know why. Guess i just skipped a lot of the older, lower cost soaps for the better stuff. Its just damn hard to not use the MDC most the time. I just wish it had some better/stronger scent.

Proraso red is pretty good, IMO. Well-scented.

    The supposedly 'tough Beard' stuff.

I have it as my baseline tester.

I could use MDC forever myself, Jerry.
I figure I have to use other things on occasion to confirm....

Esp as I have already invested in them!

    I do enjoy other things.
Yet the MDC always makes for the better shave. So far!
