I prefer creams primarily because I get a more lubricated shave and a gentler action on my skin. I've also come to appreciate the action of mixing my lather in my bowl. It hasn't stopped me from using soaps on occasion, though.

Never really gave it much thought. I've always used soaps and never even knew a shaving cream existed until I joined this forum. There seems to be an endless variety of soap scents out there. I'll try anything once and may try a shaving cream one day.

I seem to have more creams than soaps in the rotation. I really, really like creams but that doesn't mean I don't like soaps. Something about creams....smell so frickin good and they look so fluffy in the tub, sometimes I almost want to take a bite....what was I talking about?

anywho, I guess every cream and soap is different and there are some great creams and some great soaps. I like them both but I might be leaning a little over to the cream's side.

I always seem to get a little better glide out of soaps and they tend to last me longer so I lean that way.

I absolutely love both! Lately I have been face lathering
with the creams (of course, kept hot between passes
with the Moss Scuttle), and bowl lathering the soap since
it tends to take a bit more work to get a great lather.

I prefer soaps. They're always sitting in bowls, ready to use. I'm just a lazy bum

I use soaps as well, almost exclusively from TGQ. Creams don't provide enough slip for me and I end up getting irritation on my neck. However I throw them in the mix just to get variety now and then.

Personally, I tend to get a better shave with soaps. Although it is a horse race. Creams have the advantage of being available in a wider variety of scents.
