I do love them both. I just alternate.

Thanked: 335I'm right there with the rich guy. Some would call it vacillation; some would call it equivocation; some would call it indecision; some would call it alternation; until I settle this irresolution, I'm with the last bunch just trying the next delight.
I do have a current favorite, the Classic Almond Soap, but that may have changed with this morning's cream. I can't tell you what it was 'cuz I didn't have my glasses on, but it sure smelled good and worked like a charm. I hope I remember where I put it.

IMG!!! I love them both so much and I don't want to betray either...but I think my soaps will outnumber my creams soon. maybe it is because of my new brush. The Shavemac seems to do better with soaps and I've recently orderly and tested some Tabac (which I can't even describe!), and the kent/mitchell's wool fat (I hear great things so I can't wait to try it when it arrives), and I've had AOS sandlewood (I've actually had fun mocking AOS about the price of their soap but I was offered a price I couldn't refuse. When this is gone I will be swiching to Taylors since a super classy wooden bowl and some top grade soap costs the same as a refill of AOS). I guess the soaps have got the creams beat for now but I don't intend on ever sticking to either exclusively.

lately i have been going back to the soap. i only have williams right now, so not a lot of choices there. however i needed more lather making skills and i think it is harder to build with soap. so maybe i am just using now till i get a good lather down.
nothing against the cremes, i like them as well. but my last few soap shaves have been great. no nicks, BBS, not taking 30 min any more to shave.

I use both, but if I had to choose it would be soaps.

Soaps for me. I use creams more or less once a week, but I widely prefer my honeybee's soaps.

Why do I use cream/soap? Because shaving without them is quite uncomfortable. Sorry, I couldn't resist.
Actually, I'm still debating on which I prefer. I've been using mostly creams lately. I just received a sample pack of creams/soaps from Colleen. For last night's shave I tried some of her Cavendisk Black Cream. Unfortunately in an effort to make the most out of my samples I tried to be a little too frugal with the amount of cream I used and it didn't work well. I barely ended up with enough cream for a single pass and it didn't hold up well. It was definitely not a fair test of her products.

It depends on my mood. Some days I just like the heaviness that a cream produces..

So far I've only had the (dis)pleasure of one cream, so I'm a soap guy. I love the lather it produces and how easy it is, but Proraso Green and I just don't get along.
